2013 Northwest Christian Renewal Conference – May 17th and 18th in Redmond, WA

May 9, 2013

Have you always wanted to attend a writers’ conference?

Join Me

I’ve been richly blessed by the people of Northwest Christian Writers’ Association. If I hadn’t joined this wonderful organization back in 2008, I wouldn’t have been exposed to the incredible speakers who have taught me about the craft and business of writing. I wouldn’t have joined my critique group, who have helped me develop the courage to show my work to someone other than my cat.

If I hadn’t joined NCWA, I wouldn’t have attended their annual conference, which is coming up again next week. It was at my first Writers’ Renewal Conference that I faced my fear of rejection and pitched a book for the first time, (thank you, Terry Whalin for being such a kind pitchee). At my second Writers’ Renewal I met Les Stobbe, who would become my agent. Last year, I even got to teach at the conference, which was an incredible experience.

So, if you’re a writer and you live anywhere near the Seattle area, I would encourage you to consider attending this year’s conference. It’s an amazing value (don’t tell the organizers they could probably charge more if they wanted to), and you will get more than your money’s worth.

Our keynote speaker this year is the great writer, Jane Kirkpatrick. To find out more about Jane, visit her website:

I always love learning about the craft and about marketing. It’s also a great time to meet the agents and editors in the industry.

I’ve learned so much from the Renewal, but the best part for me has been the fellowship between Christian writers. Can’t wait!

That’s true, Karen. I left that part out! It really means a lot to be able to talk to other writers about the things that people in your day-to-day life don’t quite get. It makes you feel normal!

Sorry to miss it this year but I will be the first to sign up next year. However, my biggest goal is to start attending the monthly meetings. Now you all know…If I don’t show up in the Fall, you can hold me accountable.

I would be so happy to see you at the meetings, Allison. You’ll be amazed at the impact it has on your writing.
