Living Your Life Purpose in Spite of Past Choices
BEYOND REGRET is a practical Christian resource for people experiencing consequences today from choices made in their past. It is an in-depth look at why we make bad choices and how God is able to work our past into His plan for our lives. The book sheds light on God’s true will and purpose for us and how we can fulfill it in spite of our past choices. BEYOND REGRET is based on Biblical truths, using Scripture references and examples that effectively make clear how we can move past regret, make better choices for the future, and live out God’s true purpose for each of us no matter where we are in life.

If you want to read a book that will encourage you to view your walk with God in a new light, BEYOND REGRET by Laurie Driesen is a fantastic choice.
We’ve all experienced regret. Pride, sin, and free will have pretty much guaranteed that it’s an unavoidable component of the human condition. But whether you’re crippled by the consequences of a major life choice you wish you could redo, or simply troubled by small things you would like to have done differently, there is hope. In fact, God wants to use those choices to grow you in Christ and bring you closer to Him.
This book is a rich resource, not just to help you understand the nature of regret and how God wants to use it in your life, but to show you how to move past it, prevent making new choices that will cause future self-reproach, and live your life’s purpose in spite of—and perhaps because of—the things that have led to feelings of regret.
In my own life, I have found that my deepest regret brought about my greatest joy. Reading this book helped me to gain perspective on why that might be, and how God has been in the process. It’s helped me to get past some of the anger, remorse, bitterness, and disappointment that are a direct consequence of my past decisions. We can’t relive the past, but we can learn and grow from it, and allow God to use it for our good.
Personally, I still have a ways to go to shed all my regrets, but I got a lot out of this book. I found the author’s style to be very personable and not at all heavy-handed theologically speaking. I would even recommend it to people who don’t have a relationship with Jesus but are open to healing and learning from their past.
