In this fun follow-up to “Chocolate Beach” (see my review), Julie Carobini delivers another fun adventure to Chick Lit Beach.
After her apartment building burns down and her delivery boy takes her for most of her flower business, Gaby Flores is ready for a fresh start. She’s just moved into a newly rented third story loft in a fantastic house overlooking the sea. Okay, so the apartment is a little rundown, but aside from that it’s a great place to begin turning her life around.
Just as her life is looking up, it suddenly all goes downhill. Not only is she nearly broke, but she’s being sued by a disgruntled bride. A nosy neighbor won’t leave her alone, and her landlord, who lives in the lower part of her house and seems to have access to her home, is a little more attentive than she’d prefer.
Still, two possible candidates for “Mr. Right” come into her life for better or worse. Is there enough chocolate in the world to help Gaby sort out her life?
I love Ms. Carobini’s lighthearted style, and I very much enjoyed this book. I recommend it as a quick beach read, or maybe a wish-I-was-at-the-beach read. Grab yourself a brownie and enjoy!
