Please join me in celebrating the release of two new “home-based” sets of Christmas novels for this holiday season!
~Both sets are available for a limited time only.~
Even though we’ve all spent more time than usual at home over the past couple of years, we still long for the comforts of home, family, and friends during the holidays. These collections of Christian Christmas novels bring “home” the spirit of the season. Let’s get to know some of the authors and find out how we were inspired to write our stories.

Today, it’s my turn! I’m here to share my inspiration for writing my latest novel, My True Love Gave to Me.
I knew last year when I wrote Laughing All the Way, book 6 in my Holiday Hearts series, whose story I would tell in book 7. In Laughing, Cassidy Turner is the best friend of that book’s leading lady, Jessica. She was such a fun character, I wanted to spend time getting to know her better.
Cassidy loves all things vintage. She works in a vintage home décor store, wears clothing that pays homage to the past, and loves old movies. She even drives a vintage car.
Vintage Treasures, the store she works in, is exactly the kind of place I love perusing. I knew that should be a primary setting for the book. I wanted her love interest to be a part of her work community, but I pictured him having good reason to pop in and out of the store. He should be enough of a presence in her life that they both feel the spark, but not so much that he would be her obvious choice when she finds herself in need of a date for a Christmas party.
I always enjoy creating characters who have unusual jobs. Since I’ve already written my fair share of people who work in retail, food services, and coffee places, I wanted to come up with something different. I quickly latched onto the idea of making this book’s leading man a delivery driver.
The past couple of years, I’ve developed a serious appreciation for delivery drivers. They work hard at what must, at times, feel like a thankless job. As a writer, I can’t help but wonder what their perspective is as they weave in and out of other people’s daily routines. How many snippets of conversation do they overhear? How many people on their route do they get to know?
And so, handsome and friendly delivery driver Sean Garrett became the main guy in My True Love Gave to Me. I had a lot of fun exploring Cassidy and Sean’s world. I hope you enjoy reading the book!
