Whole30 Day 15: Halfway There…

March 8, 2016

…and livin’ on a prayer!

This is a good time to stop and reflect about the nature of this kind of challenge. We’ve reached the stage where we’re doing the hard work and making the sacrifice but not yet feeling the rewards. In fact, there are times when we feel worse than before we started. The initial enthusiasm has passed but we have to keep going. How do you get through this phase of any major project?

It’s easy to keep going at something when you’re reaping the benefits. Like with my writing, for example. I don’t even know how I managed to finish two novels with nothing but hope of an eventual publishing contract to keep me going.

Actually, I take that back. I do know. Hope is a powerful thing, but hope combined with prayer can move mountains.

I’ve been praying a lot for our Whole30 challenge. For fortitude and perseverance. For lessons learned. For a positive outcome for each of us that will lead to new and improved lifelong habits.

So that’s what sees me through. How about you?
